Dear Campus Community,
Over the next few days, OIT will be rolling out a new set of features associated with campus Office 365/Outlook email accounts. These features—many of which will operate behind the scenes while you continue working and studying as normal—are part of our sustained efforts to address the annoyance, inconvenience, and security risks posed by phishing attacks to our campus.
Of the features we are enabling, MyAnalytics will be the most noticeable and potentially useful to your work. MyAnalytics is a weekly automated email sent from Microsoft that can help Office 365 users be more productive.
Your MyAnalytics emails will arrive on Monday mornings, and will typically offer key insights into the way you work and collaborate. Please note that this feature operates automatically and your account data remains secure (to read more about how the MyAnalytics feature works, go here ). Of course, if you prefer not to receive MyAnalytics emails, you can always “unsubscribe” via a link included at the bottom of every MyAnalytics email.
While you are exploring Office 365 features, you may want to take the opportunity to look into the other applications that are available for all campus users—including Class Notebook, OneNote, Teams, and more. These products offer users a lot of functionality—all built right in to your existing account.
This rollout is the first of a series of security measures that OIT plans to enact this fall in an effort to better protect your account security. Stay tuned for more information about our next big initiative when National Cyber Security Awareness month kicks off in October!
