Dear Campus Community,
As UC Merced continues its drive to modernize systems and processes, the campus has sought to streamline the reservation process for non-instructional spaces.
After careful consideration, a team of stakeholders led by Space Planning and the Office of Information Technology has selected EMS as the new campus-wide room reservation system. EMS will replace the multiple mechanisms of reserving rooms currently in place, simplifying the process of finding and securing space.
Features of the new system include:
- A single access point to view all non-instructional spaces Ability to search for space by criteria
- Photos of rooms, room amenities and configurations
- Ability to book rooms through Outlook (for Windows users) or through a convenient web portal (for all users)
The current configuration of the system will continue through fall, and key dates for testing and training will be released in subsequent communications. Keep up with the progress of the system implementation at http://rooms.ucmerced.edu . Scheduling of instructional space (otherwise known as general assignment classrooms) will remain in Ad Astra.
If you have any questions, contact Melissa Tessier, Maggie Saunders or Sara Anastos.
Sincerely,
Gregg Camfield
Interim Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor
